Restoring and insulating the stairwell

In this Bagnères house let out by owners who have entrusted me with several renovations, including the kitchen of their own home, the stairwell needed restoring and better insulating. in polar white Nordic pine now lines the full height, with semi-rigid panels behind it to limit heat loss.

The real subject: the people who live there

This project took place in a tenant's home, with a young child in the house. My job was also to make sure neither she nor the neighbours suffered from the work. In practice: a card dropped in at the neighbours' with my number, so they could reach me directly about any noise, parking or delivery issue. And progress reports with photos sent to the owners at every milestone or every finished task, and at least weekly on longer projects: they followed their project live, without ever having to disturb their tenant. A decent craftsman also protects his clients' good relationships.

The questions I'm often asked

Can you carry out works in a rented home without souring the relationship with the tenant? Where do you start with thermal improvement? How do you follow a project when you live far away?

I have practical answers to all of that, and two articles to dig deeper: insulation, where to start and a bespoke project, how it works. And for your own situation, call me: the quote is free.

The gold-underlined words are explained on hover. All definitions are in the joinery glossary.
What about your place?

Works in a rented or lived-in property?

A clean site, tenants respected, neighbours informed, regular photo reports: you follow everything, without being there. A precise, free quote. I speak English, so feel free to call or write in English.
